Toronto’s iRestify announces $1 million funding round led by Birchmere Ventures

Toronto-based iRestify – an online platform that makes it easy for businesses to book and manage cleaning services – today announced it has closed a $1 million funding round.

The funding was led by Birchmere Ventures, and supported by Good News Ventures, along with investors from Maple Leaf Angels, and others.

Co-founded by Erifili Morfidis and Charlotte Gummesson, iRestify offers an online, streamlined solution for booking and managing trusted and insured cleaning services. While the process of contracting cleaning services traditionally takes weeks, the company’s unique platform offers turnaround within days.

“Typically, in the traditional model, you contact someone by phone or email, then they have to visit your site for a quote; you have to negotiate, and then you sign a contract. This is very time-consuming and not the way people expect to do business today,” says Gummesson.

“With iRestify, everything is online and transparent. Clients get an instant quote, and can compare different options,” says Morfidis. The platform features an intuitive guidance tool to help business owners select the service best-suited to them. Clients also benefit from real-time access to service details and payments. “The result is money and time saved for our clients.”

Since its inception in 2016, the company has acquired high profile clients, including Emily’s House, a children’s hospice, as well as medical centres, corporate offices, and private schools.

“As Toronto’s only hospice for children facing life threatening illnesses, it is of the utmost importance that our environment at Emily’s House communicates care, compassion, and comfort,” says Dan Dempster, Director of Operations for Emily’s House. “iRestify’s services help us achieve the highest standard of cleanliness, which contributes significantly to comfort measures for our patients and their families.”

“These are prominent clients who really need the highest quality services by trusted cleaning crews,” Morfidis says. “iRestify delivers on that promise.”

Morfidis’ and Gummessons’ background in innovative tech – specifically transitioning traditional call centres to the digital universe – gives the company an edge in this booming industry. The company focuses on businesses in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Montreal.

“This is essentially an offline industry going online,” Morfidis says. “We’re also seeing the on-demand economy growing in many industries. Cleaning services – particularly in Toronto, with its booming business community – are ripe for innovation, and we’re proud to be leading this market.”
